Building and protecting food & drink brands
Believe in's strategic director Tim Burley took part in a panel event in London this week, hosted by leading IP law firm Abel+Imray, and held in the Grange White Hall Hotel in London.
Joining Tim on the expert panel were directors from a number of the firm's food clients, including Smith & Sinclair (creators of edible alcoholic sweets), Nikasu (a manufacturer of frozen Indian foods) and Pladis (the parent company of United Biscuits), plus a partner from Abel+Imray's Trademark team. The well-attended event was aimed at growing food and drink brands, and covered a range of topics including the role of brand strategy and how to stand out in a fast-moving market, as well as the importance of proper IP protection.
Tim said "This was a great event that covered a lot of really useful ground, such as creating a brand name and the steps you should take when someone pinches your idea. The questions that followed were also really smart, and I learnt a lot about how patents work."
